Galmoy Groundwater Assessment

TOBIN prepared a Source Protec琀椀on Plan (SPZ) for
the exis琀椀ng Galmoy wells. SPZ delinea琀椀on involved
developing a conceptual hydrogeological model through
desk studies, site visits, surveys, 昀椀eld inves琀椀ga琀椀ons,
data analysis, and GIS-based mapping. Each stage
re昀椀ned the understanding of ver琀椀cal and horizontal
groundwater 昀氀ow. A Cryptosporidium Risk Assessment
was also conducted on the condi琀椀on of the exis琀椀ng
wells.

TOBIN provided project management, audi琀椀ng, and
diagnos琀椀c services for several public water supplies.
At Scart East, TOBIN conducted a groundwater
inves琀椀ga琀椀on to replace an exis琀椀ng spring supply with
two new produc琀椀on wells. The project included a
review of previous inves琀椀ga琀椀ons, well design to G1
standards, step tests, a 7-day constant rate test, and a
sampling programme. Monitoring also covered nearby
wells and the original spring source.
