Drinking Water Source Protection

TOBIN was appointed to prepare an Integrated Source
Protec琀椀on Plan that aims to protect this drinking water
source. TOBIN conducted a Risk Assessment of the
source water, prepared a Drinking Water Catchment
(Zone of Contribu琀椀on), carried out extensive catchment
walkovers and 昀椀eld mapping, mapped salient landscape
features (e.g. swallow holes), cri琀椀cal source areas, and
land ac琀椀vi琀椀es.
TOBIN prepared a Risk Management plan to improve
‘raw’ water quality at source to improve the overall
opera琀椀on and sustainability of the scheme, progressing
toward a ‘safe’ and ‘secure’ drinking water supply.
The plan includes a variety measures, ac琀椀ons and
recommenda琀椀ons in rela琀椀on to treatment, cri琀椀cal source
areas, land use management and communica琀椀ons,
awareness and educa琀椀on.
