Shane Taaffe, Hydraulic Expert
Paul joined TOBIN in 1992 and holds the posi琀椀on of Technical
Director / Head of Water Services in the Water & U琀椀li琀椀es
Division. Paul has played a key lead role on mul琀椀ple largescale
昀氀ood management and 昀氀ood protec琀椀on projects across Ireland
and has considerable experience in developing and assessing
昀氀ood relief measures that are both robust and sustainable, while
always ensuring that our 琀椀me is targeted at the most notable
昀氀ood risk issues for our clients.
Shane is an Engineer in TOBIN’s Water & U琀椀li琀椀es division. He
graduated from NUI Galway with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil
Engineering, where he completed his disserta琀椀on 琀椀tled ‘Analysis
and Mi琀椀ga琀椀on of Flooding in Galway City & Salthill’. Shane also
holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Water Stream),
where he completed his disserta琀椀on on the ‘Quan琀椀昀椀ca琀椀on &
Mapping of Flooding in Cork City’. Since joining TOBIN, Shane has
gained experience in hydraulic modelling, 昀氀ood mi琀椀ga琀椀on and has
completed several 昀氀ood risk assessments for both commercial and
residen琀椀al developments around Ireland.
John Murray, Surveying Lead
Anastasia Papadouris, Engineer
John joined TOBIN in 1996 and heads up the Surveying func琀椀on
of our Water & U琀椀li琀椀es Division at TOBIN. He has extensive
experience of undertaking site iden琀椀昀椀ca琀椀on and assessment
assignments for a number of clients in the private and public
sectors.
Anastasia joined TOBIN’s Water & U琀椀li琀椀es Division as a Project
Engineer. She has contributed to a range of interna琀椀onal projects,
while working in South Africa and Australia, primarily in consul琀椀ng,
and has been involved in major Flood Relief Schemes in Ireland. Her
exper琀椀se spans across tailings, geotechnical, and water engineering,
with addi琀椀onal experience in sustainability, dam monitoring,
construc琀椀on quality assurance, and project management. She holds
a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an honours and master’s
degree in technology management specialising in renewable energy
and desalina琀椀on plants.
Kevin Donlon, Engineer, Hydraulic Expert
Frank O’Connor, Engineer
Kevin is a Design Engineer in the Water & U琀椀li琀椀es Division of
TOBIN. He has a BE (Hons) in Civil Engineering and a Master’s
Degree in Civil Engineering (Water Stream). Kevin has over 4 years
post grad experience on a wide range of projects gaining experience
in the areas of management, design and analysis, speci昀椀ca琀椀on,
procurement and construc琀椀on in both Ireland and the UK. Past
projects have included a number of Flood Risk Assessments,
hydraulic modelling and 昀氀ood mi琀椀ga琀椀on feasibility studies.
Frank is based in our Water & U琀椀li琀椀es Division in Galway, and is an
Engineer. He obtained his Civil Engineering bachelor’s and Master’s
Degree from NUI Galway, during which he was the recipient of
the TOBIN Post Graduate Scholarship and focused on the water
stream. He has made valuable contribu琀椀ons into 昀氀ood hydrology
and hydraulic analysis as part of our FRAs and FRSs commissions.
