TOBIN were appointed to design a scheme to alleviate
昀氀ooding between Craughwell and Kilcolgan in Galway.
The works consisted of channel deepening in Craughwell
village to the con昀氀uence of the Aggard Stream, local
channel widening at Rinn Bridge and channel widening
from the Dunkellin Bridge to the N18.

TOBIN were appointed to assess the recent 昀氀ood
event and design measures to mi琀椀gate future 昀氀ooding.
Stage 1 involved prac琀椀cal short-term risk reduc琀椀on
measures to protect the hospital against 昀氀ooding.
Stage 2 involved long-term engineering solu琀椀ons to
minimise the risk of 昀氀ooding at the hospital in the
future.
