Impact on Local Communities
Community is at the heart of TOBIN where in delivering our projects we have a commitment
to always contribute and enhance the wellbeing of the communities in which our projects
are based. This commitment is aligned to three of the UN Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs):

We deliver projects in the Built Environment, Roads, Transportation and Environmental
sectors and through this provide communities with quality designed infrastructure which
has been designed while being mindful of the surrounding environment and with a carbon
sensible approach.
A small sample of some of our projects include:

Worked with various local authorities throughout Ireland in the design of active travel
and greenway schemes. These projects connect communities with safe spaces for
people to use active modes of transport. In excess of 50km of greenway and active
travel schemes have been delivered or are in the planning and development stages,
over the past 2 years.
Design team lead and Employers Representative for the deep energy retro昀椀t of 155
local authority housing units. This involved removal of existing solid fuel stove heating
systems and replacement with modern heat pump technology thus improving air
quality within the homes and making the houses much more energy e昀케cient.

Project lead consultants to enhance the public realm of various towns and cities
across Ireland. Under these schemes the urban space is reimagined to provide
greater sense of place for pedestrians and reprioritise people over car usage and
provide greater space for community engagement.
Civil and Structural consultants on 2 new Primary Care Centers in Co. Sligo. These
centers are an important asset to the local community in these areas and provide
local residents with easy access to healthcare. These 2 Primary Care Centers are in
addition to 8 others throughout Ireland where TOBIN were involved in recent years.
