Impact on Local Communities
Community is at the heart of TOBIN, we are committed to engineering solutions that not
only deliver technical excellence but also drive sustainable development and generate
positive social impact in the communities where we operate. Our approach is rooted
in transparency, inclusivity, and long-term value creation, in alignment with key UN
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Through collaborative planning and community engagement, we deliver projects in the
Built Environment, Roads, Transportation and Environmental sectors and through this
provide communities with quality designed infrastructure which has been designed while
being mindful of the surrounding environment and with a carbon sensible approach.
SDG 13: Climate Action
We assess and mitigate the environmental impact of our projects, promoting lowcarbon design, nature-based solutions, and climate resilience in both urban and
rural developments. We demonstrate this to our Clients through the use of Life Cycle
Assessment (LCA) software, whereby a low-carbon design and can be compared with
other more traditional methods.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
With 5 o昀케ces across the country we create local employment opportunities, engage
local suppliers, and support skills development to ensure that the communities we
serve bene昀椀t economically from our presence.
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
We design resilient, sustainable infrastructure that supports economic growth and
improves quality of life for local communities. We take pride in our projects that enhance
access to essential services such as clean water, renewable energy, and sustainable
transportation. Key projects we have been involved with in this regard include Vartry
Water Treatment Plant, Oweninny Wind Farm Development and various Active Travel
and Urban Realm projects throughout the country.
